Our annual Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success! Students had a blast searching for eggs filled with fun prizes—everything from homework passes to snacks and drinks 🐣🍬🥤 Congrats to Aleeda and Silar for finding the golden eggs and taking home the high school and junior high cash prizes! 🎉

Today our students heard from Savannah Bowles, who shared her experience in graphic design and her journey after Valley. Opportunities like this help students see what’s possible and connect classroom learning to real careers. Thanks to Savannah for her presentation and to Mr Babcock for organizing this experience!

Our juniors had an awesome day at the Canton Area Career Expo! 🙌 (Friday March 27). Through hands-on activities and conversations with professionals, students explored a variety of career paths and real-world opportunities. Big thanks to the Canton Area Chamber, Spoon River College, and the Fulton County Farm Bureau for making it happen!

Big shoutout to 5th grader Kensley McConkey for an incredible accomplishment—surpassing 1,000 AR points over her elementary career! 📚✨ Kensley’s hard work is something to celebrate, and she’s setting an amazing example for all students to follow. Keep turning those pages, Kensley, we’re proud of you! 👏

Mrs. Ellis’s 7th grade scientists put their investigative skills to the test in a hands-on lab this week! 🧪 Students explored how different substances react when combined, working to identify which three created a noticeable chemical change. By observing temperature shifts, color changes, bubbling, and other reactions, they gathered evidence to support their conclusions.

This week in LVC athletics

🏓 Pickleball Tournament Champions! The past two weeks in PE have been full of energy, competition, and a whole lot of fun as students took part in our annual Pickleball Tournament! 💪🔥 We’re proud to celebrate our champions and all the students who showed great sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the tournament. 👏

Elementary parents...you recently received the Title Needs Assessment in the mail. The information you provide helps us to write the grant for next year. We greatly appreciate your help in sending those back.

Title Night will be March 26. If you have signed up, we are looking forward to seeing you. If you still need to sign up, please send back your form. A second copy will go home tomorrow if you need a new copy.

Join us Sunday April 12th at 5pm where we are hosting the annual FFA banquet. Hope to see you there!

Preschool screening is this Thursday, March 19 from 8 to 11:00. Students who are interested in preschool and will be at least three by August should attend Call 309-778-2207 to sign up

Since roads have been cleared and Cuba and Lewistown are both is session today, LVC practices and events will go on as scheduled.

Due to road conditions throughout the district and in the interest of safety there will be no school at Spoon River Valley on Tuesday, March 17. Stay safe.
